‘We’ll continue to report the truths’

AMED – Dicle News Agency (DİHA), reports the realities of war in Kurdistan to Turkey and world against“blind eyes”media, reporters say, “We’ll continue to report the truths” despite the pressure they have to face.

Dicle News Agency (DİHA) reporters reported Taybet İnan, whose dead body remained in the streets for seven days, the killing of the baby named Miray, the body of Cemile kept in refrigerated. The reporters report the realities of war in Kurdistan to Turkey and world against “blind eyes” media. The reporters of DİHA have faced to be detained, tortured and pressure. DİHA was founded with the slogan "Never make a concession from the truth" in April 4, 2002. DİHA has reached its readers and subscribers in Turkey and Kurdistan and it has taken place as an agency that determines agenda with its news. DİHA reporters run around day-and-night as required by their profession. The news agency has been subjected to numerous rights violations since 2012. Jailing, battering, torturing, and threatening are in their life like their cameras. DİHA has reported the news which cannot be seen by blind media.

DİHA’s original internet address diclehaber.com was blocked by Turkey’s telecommunications regulator; the TİB, on July 24, 2015 and its website have been censored for 35th time until now. The reporters have been detained many times and they have been threatened with death. Lastest detained reporter of DİHA is Mehmet Hakkı Yılmaz, who reported the bomb attack in Antep yesterday the first, has been detained yesterday. Nedim Oruç was detained in Silopi before. No information had been obtained about him for several days. His colleagues could hear from him after the pressure imposed by his colleagues. DİHA Yüksekova reporter Nedim Türfent was threatened with death on social media. Meltem Oktay and Bilal Güldem those who reported from Nusaybin where state forces burned and demolished the houses, have been jailed for “Being a member of a terrorist organization.” Nine of DİHA reporters are jailed now.

Diyarbakır Regional Chief Dicle Müftüoğlu said, “Free press employees report what is going on in Kurdistan to the world. Our reporters reported what happened here. If you don’t write what Erdoğan and government want, a gun can be held to your heads. At least, two our reporters are detained each day. In this way, they are trying to intimidate and silence us. They think they hide the truths by this way.
