ŞIRNEX – Resistance of self-government has continued for 52 days in Şırnak. Violent clashes have continued at many points of the city.

Resistance of self- government against genocidal attacks has entered in the 52nd day in Şırnak. The clashes intensified in Bahçelievler neighborhood last night, numerous houses and workplaces of local people were torn down in the neighborhood by shelling. Violent clashes are taking place between state forces and the Civil Defense Units YPS /YPS-JIN members around the Yeni neighborhoods. Meanwhile, violent clashes have continued nonstop in the İsmetpaşa, Yeni, Cumhuriyet and Aydınlıkevler neighborhoods for days.

The clashes intensified in Yeni neighborhood in the morning. Armored vehicles deployed around the neighborhood have been torn down the houses by using mortar and howitzer. Smokes rise from the neighborhood. Snipers positioned on higher buildings and armored vehicles are also raking the neighborhoods. The areas of clashes are witnessing an intense activity of ambulances heading towards 23rd Gendarmerie Border Division Command.

Meanwhile, state forces set the houses and workplaces on fire in the Gazipaşa and Yeşilyurt neighborhoods.
