ANKARA – The Republican’s People Party (CHP) former MP Melda Onur commented on the proposal for the lifting of immunities which the constitutional committee sent to general assembly of the parliament. She called, “Don’t fall into the same error again” by reminding the Democracy Party (DEP) MPs.

Melda Onur is former MP of Republican People’s Party (CHP), a member of the CHP Party Assembly. 24th period Istanbul MP Melda stated that they issued an opinion with the signature of 37 MPs by gathering with 24th period MPs. Melda said, “I know that many MPs in the CHP will say “No” to the proposal for the lifting of immunities.

“Today, if we have a situation of violence in the country, if we have a state of civil war in the country, if many people from the Turkish and Kurdish people die, the reasons of all of those are what happened in 1990s and chucking the Democracy Party (DEP) MPs out the parliament in 1994.”

Melda reminded the years of 1990s and said, “We practiced the same 20 years ago and the same practice will cause very severe consequences. This is a very painful situation.We can see such a disaster is coming.”
