QAMIŞLO – Qamişlo women formed agricultural communes with the motto, “Commune your water, land and energy,” Women gave informations about the communes, “We plant our land with love and we make our life green.”

Women, who formed economy communes in the Qamişlo city of Rojava, have begun to work with the coming of spring by saying, “Commune your water, land and energy.” Forming women’s economy communes women stated that they are forming the economy of society and said, “We are working to stand on our own legs and develop the economy of Rajava in the spirit of communal. We began to plant seeds with women. We are working to develop our works in agricultural areas.”

Qesîde Hacî from the Commune of Martyr Hogır said, “Five separate communes gathered to form the commune of economy. Women have planted 500 pepper and 500 eggplant seedlings with a great morale. Women have developed their economy with their labor.” Qesîde stated that women must believe in themselves and said, “As women, we should do our works by ourselves. These lands are ours. We must work for our own community without needing any extra help.”

One of the members of communes Terfa Hac Xalid stated that the embargo which has been imposed on Rojava leave them unsettled. She said, “They threaten us with embargos, however, we aren’t desperate. We stand on our own legs with our lands and water. We don’t accept to be displaced. We’ll continue to live by planting our lands.” Terfa called on the Rojava youth: “Don’t leave your own lands, continue to live on your lands. The AKP and KDP are trying to make us need them by closing the borders. However, we don’t need them. We live by planting the vegetable and fruits. We make our life green planting our lands.”
