Sara Women's Center was opened on March 8 in the Halfeti district of Urfa. An investigation has been launched against the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Urfa co-chair Ayşe Sürücü for attending the opening ceremony of Women's Center. Urfa Governor banned all marches, press releases and other activities from March 5-8. Ayşe testified in District Police Department within the scope of the investigation carried out by Viranşehir Public Prosecution Office for attending the opening ceremony.

Ayşe stated that attending the opening ceremony of a center for women on women's day is quite normal. Ayşe said, "I was called to testify for attending the opening ceremony of women's center opened by municipality. This is a tragicomic situation. Only one day is celebrated by women in 365 days. And this day was banned. Attending the opening ceremony of Women's Center is a crime."
