ISTANBUL- Women wear their colorful dresses by trowing away the black burqas of tyranny with the liberation of Manbij. The photographs of operation to liberate Manbij give hope to the women in the west of Turkey.

Manbij Military Council launched "The operation of Commander Martyr Faysal Ebû Leyla" on June 1 to liberate Manbij. Many women have been saved from the atrocity of ISIS. The saved women first throw away the black burqas and wear their colorful dresses. Women in Turkey explained their feeling as hope and excitement when they see the photographs of these women.

Hülya Güntaş, candidate of the Republican's People Party (CHP) on June 7 election, stated that she tried to put herself into the women's shoes when she first saw the photographs of women. Thus, she tried to understand which difficulties women faced. Hülya said, "When I saw them throwing away the black burqas, I felt like I got my freedom." Hülya said that women in Turkey may face such situation in the future and continued to talk, "I am worried about that like every woman. Living spaces of women have been tried to be limited with new laws. Women are tried to put in home. This situation always scares me, because we may live the same things in our country, too."

One of the members of the Women's Initiative for Peace Ferda Sayın stated that the photographs of women in Manbij make her hopeful. She said, "As a woman lives in the west of Turkey, I felt hopeful when I saw the photographs of women in Manbij. No religion and androcentrism can dress up women with clothes which they don't want. Women wear whatever they want and they live whenever they want."

Feminist Activist Deniz Tuncel, meanwhile, shared her feeling by saying, "I wish all women in the region could talk about the photographs. The photographs are very exciting and colorful. Women feel stronger when they see the photographs. I wish all women in that region to obtain the colorful dresses soon."
