ŞIRNEX - Şırnak people those who have been tried to displace by genocidal attacks have continued their struggle for life in tents for 100 days. Women stated that they will never leave their lands and said, "We won't leave Şırnak and we'll rebuild our city."
The resistance of people against genocidal attacks that began to carry out with the declaration of "curfew" in Şırnak, have entered in the 100th day. The city has been burned and demolished with the policy of displacement for 100 days. Şırnak people have lived in the areas around the city by setting up jerry-build tents. Women, who didn't go to other cities in order to not leave Şırnak, gave a message: "We won't leave Şırnak, we'll rebuild our city. We can live in the tents but never leave our city."
Women, who set up tents five kilometers away from Şırnak, have watched Şırnak from far away. They ask why they haven't been allowed to enter the city despite the announcement of "operation ended" in the city. Hanife İdin is one of these women. Hanife emphasized that they demand peace despite ongoing pressure and atrocity. She said, "We were very good until the National Intelligence Organization (MİT), spies, village guards disturb our peace. People want to live in their lands in peace. They should understand that."
Hanife noted that they cannot assimilate Kurdish people by imposing pressure and atrocity. Hanife pointed out that living in tent isn't difficult for her and she is resisting to not leaving Şırnak. Hanife said, "The state hasn't had any excuse to maintain the ban. If they lift the ban today, we will return our homes."
Another woman Saadet Bahşiş, meanwhile, said, "Şırnak has been burned and demolished for 100 days; however, we'll rebuild it. This people never leave their lands. If they carry out operation on Şırnak again, we wouldn't leave our homes even if they burn us with our homes. Our children were killed, we will risk death for our lands."
