WAN - Van people reacted to the discussion about the appointment of trustee to the municipalities held by the the Democratic Regional Party (DBP) by saying, "The AKP government ignores our will by planning to control the municipalities with appointment of trustee. We won't recognize any trustee of the AKP."

As a proposed law of the appointment of trustee is supposed to be sent to parliament, citizens reacted to trustees to be appointed to the municipalities in cities and districts of Kurdistan held by the the Democratic Regional Party (DBP) elected with between 70% and 90% in 2014 local election by people. Tülay Aksoy is one of these people. She pointed to the period in which the AKP government was power in municipal elections and she said, "The AKP will carry out the corruption by appointing the trustees to the municipalities held by the DBP due to it cannot corrupt now." Tülat stated that she lived in Yüksekova district of Hakkari; however, she had to immigrate to Van within the scope of the AKP's destruction project. Tülay said, "We won't allow the AKP government's corruption in our lands anymore. We got these municipalities with a great challenge. We won't give our municipalities rein to the AKP government."

Medine Kurt is another person who reacted to ongoing policies. She said, "The AKP government destroyed our towns by taking the risk of war. As second step, they have attacked municipalities we voted. They lifted the immunity of our deputies. This world will not be defeated by the AKP's unfair war. They have considered Kurdish people as enemies and they have attacked them from everywhere. The AKP government should understand that if they try to control our municipalities, as Kurdish women, we will never accept that." Medine noted that the AKP government has followed policy which prompts the Kurdist people to carry weapons. Medine said, "We don't want war, death and slaughter. However, if the AKP government doesn't allow people to do politics, the youth will carry guns. The AKP should put an end to these war policies. War damages everyone. We will fight for peace. We won't recognize the trustees appointed by the AKP government."

Zülfü İtah pointed out that they elected their representatives in local election by using their democratic rights. She said, "We elected our mayors in municipal elections. We are quite satisfied with the services of our municipalities." Zülfü reminded that the AKP government left billions of dept during period they represented Van province. Zülfü said, "There is our labor in each stone of our municipality. We elected our representatives by paying a great price. There is our children's blood in each stone of the municipality. We won't recognize any representative of the AKP. The AKP government should put an end to its war policy. Enough."
