Call for participation in march 'Raise your voice for Lice'

AMED - The Free Women's Congress (KJA) spokeswomean, Ayla Akat Ata, drew attention to attacks towards civilians and forest fires erupted in Lice after "curfew" declared the in town. Ayla called on all people to participate in March to Lice to be held tomorrow against genocidal attacks carried by the government.

Free Women's Congress (KJA) spokeswomean, Ayla Akat Ata evaluated the ongoing attacks and forest fires after "curfew" declared in the Lice district of Diyarbakır. She stated that military operation launched in Lice after dozens of hamlets were declared as prohibited area in the town. She said that a three-day sit down protest was organized in Koşuyolu and Rojava Parks under the leadership of the Free Women's Congress (KJA), Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) and Democratic Society Congress (DTK) to protest these operations. On the fourth day, they will begin to march and on the fifth day, they will go to Lice. Ayla said, "Today, the three-day sit down protest will be ended today. Everyone, in particular women should raise their voice for Lice against operations."

Ayla stated that genocidal attacks were carried in Lice in 1990s. Ayla said, "The demographic structure of Lice is wanted to be changed. We are faced the masscares of people, nature and animals in Lice now. The history of Lice is the history of the masscares. All villages and hamlets of Lice have been burned and demolished many times. Inhuman practices and genocide have been carried out in the town. Lice people have resisted against these massacre, destruction and annihilation policies until now.

"Lice people always try to solve their problem by political means. However, the state responded their demands with their tanks and bombs. Everyone should know that the will of people those who resist for their freedom, cannot be broken with tanks and bombs. Tansu Çiller said in 1993 that, "We won't leave stone on stone in lice." The same concept is being carried out now. The state's policy hasn't changed since then."

Ayla noted that all cities, districts and villages of Kurdistan have been bombed and she continued to talk by saying, "Our people have faced all kinds of violence. The address of these attacks is Lice. 19 villages and 58 hamlets have been declared as prohibited area in Lice since June 18. All people have witnessed to the war and pillage carried out in cities of Kurdistan. Massacre, destruction and annihilation policies carried out in 1990s have been recorded in the human history and memory. People use their bodies as human shield to prevent the war and deaths."

Ayla called on all people to attend the march that will be begun in Koşuyolu Park to the office of the DBP on July 2. The people will go to Lice after the march.
