ISTANBUL – A group of 20 people attacked the house of a transgender woman in the Avcılar district of Istanbul.

A group of 20 people raided on the house of a transgender woman in the Avcılar district of Istanbul last night. Friends of the transgender woman came to home in order to prevent the attack after they heard the group attacked by using stone, chopping knife and stick; however the attackers battered the other transgender women, too.

According to reports, police was called to scene; however the police didn’t bring a charge against the attackers by saying, “Today is feast, parties should make peace.” Two attackers were taken to Avcılar Police Station upon the reactions of women.

Women went to Police station and made a complaint against the attackers by saying, “they tried to kill us”.
