Women react to the execution

WAN - Women reacted to the arrest of four women and execution a woman during home raid in Hacıbekir Neighborhood of Van's İpekyolu district by special forces.

Special forces conducted raid on a home in Hacıbekir (Xaçort) Neighborhood of Van's İpekyolu district yesterday around at 4:00 p.m. As a woman was executed, four women were detained during the home raid. Special forces opened fire on other homes in the neighborhood after home raid. Citizens living in the neighborhood reacted to the incident.

One of the witnesses of the incident, Gevre Güzel, said that they went to out in order to prevent the execution; however, the police hindered them. Gevre said, "They pointed gun on our neighbors. This happens to us every time. Why do they hate women so much? Don't the states see the oppression imposed on us? They use tear gas when we go out."

Anoher witness Besna Akdoğan stated that they reacted to the incident by tongue lashings. Besna continued: "Police shouted "surrender" to the women in home. We went out in order to prevent the massacre; however, the AKP's police attacked us by using tear gas. They wrote graffiti on walls in Gever (Yüksekova) and they do the same now here. We are here and we won't be annihilated."

Meanwhile, no information has been obtained about where the corpse of executed woman was taken. Detained women named Kezban Akdoğan and İrem Akdoğan were released last night. Sozdar Akdoğan and Aynur Akdoğan are still under detention.
