MÊRDÎN - Nusaybin Municipality co-mayor Sara Kaya called on people to raise their voice for Nusaybin, where siege has entered in the fifth month, against attacks become heavier day by day.

Genocidal attacks, that have become heavier with 24-hour curfew was declared in Mardin's Nusaybin district on March 14, have entered in fifth months. Heavy attacks have carried out in the besieged town since the first day. While, state forces have begun to break the doors of homes and pillage the valuable goods of people, youths have been arrested according to the lists that prepared illegally and contain the names of hundrends of people. Nusaybin Municipality co-mayor Sara Kaya, who has been with the people with co-mayor Cengiz Kök since the first day of curfew, made evaluations about the ongoing siege.

Sara said, "A de facto curfew has been imposed on Nusaybin for almost a year; however, we have witnessed the most serious attacks since the last curfew declared. Six neighborhoods have been demolished by using howitzer and attack methods alleged using phosphorous bombs. According our investigation carried out in six neighborhoods, nearly 12 thousands of houses and workplaces have been burned and demolished until now. Meanwhile, thousands of houses have been damaged."

Sara noted that Nusaybin has been left to face an unnamed war. Sara said that the attacks have continued in the town although the YPS announced that they withdrew on May 26. Sara said, "So far, we have confirmed that 54 corpses were taken from the town. However, the government hasn't announced the names of these people yet. Families have been waiting outside of morgues for months. The families are being tortured in this way. Many corpses have been buried without a name. Families call us and they say that they haven't found their children's corpses and they want to go to neighborhoods to find them despite everything."

Sara stated that state forces destroyed the wooded areas, "Children and youth planted trees in Musa Anter Park. This park is in Devrim Neighborhood where there aren't clashes; however, they turned it into road by stubbing the trees. Meanwhile, the trees in Şeyhmus Akıncı Park were stubbed. They destroyed Gülşilav Women's Center in the park. We wanted from the people, who resisted for the trees in Gezi Park, to protest the killing of trees in Nusaybin; however, no one do anything. We know that all these attacks are against our language, nature and culture.

"Nusaybin people stood up against injustice in every part of the world. As Nusaybin people, we call on all peoples in Turkey and in the world to raise their voice for Nusaybin now. We invite everyone to Nusaybin when the curfew is lifted. They should see what happened in Nusaybin with their own eyes."
