Curfew extended in Silvan, clashes break out

AMED - Curfew declared in rural areas of Silvan has been extended. According to reports, clashes broke out after operation launched with the participation of hundreds of soldiers.

Today "curfew" was declared in 13 neighborhoods of Diyarbakır's Silvan district by Diyarbakır Governorate. The scope of curfew has been extended. As the entrance and exits in more than 20 villages, have been banned, state forces have conducted house raids in some villages. After curfew has been declared in Dêrika Hemê Reşo, Malaelîkê, Dêrikamiqûrê, Siltêniyê, Xapa, Cîcika, Şevlera, Malabadê, Ferhend, Kanîsipî, Herşen, Taxikê, Kurbeyt, Baxçe, Sextê, Huseynka, Beynat, Tîrkevank, Mistika, Başimt villages and hamlets, military operation launched in these villages and hamlets.

According to local sources, soldiers sent from Batman to the area with dozens of armored vehicles and state forces conducted house raids in some villages before "curfew" was declared. As hundreds of soldiers have joined in the operation with dozens of armored vehicles, some village guards have taken part in the operation, too. As the UAV activities have continued in the area, all networks of phone operators and electricity have been cut in some villages.
