EFRÎN - Sara Organization, founded to end violence against women, administrator made evaluation on increasing number of femicide in these days and she said: "We have carried out struggle for freedom. Because of this, the attacks of patriarchal system against women have increased."

Women in Kurdistan Rojava have made revolution against the patriarchal system by applying self-defense and forming communal life. Their purpose is to end the violence against women which has been in effect for years. Sara Organization is one of these women's organizations which founded to end violence against women. Sara Organization administrator Gulîsatn Arîf Têkildarê made evaluations on ongoing femicide and violence against women. Gulîstan noted that the conventional structure of system has affected women negatively and said that: "The problems that women have faced are the result of this mentality. Women, who live under male mentality, have lost themselves. They have been forced to marry when they are children and they have been put in house and isolated from society. All these conditions have isolated women from society."

Gulîstan stated that men, who kill women, take the power from the system and said that: "In the last days, a woman was killed in the canton. In Kurdistan Rojava, people have begun to resist against ongoing femicide under the leadership of women. The revolution in Rojava has become a source of life to whole world. Not only in Rojava, but also in the Middle East, women have been killed under the name of honor killing. Women have fought for freedom. Because of this, the attacks of patriarchal system against women have increased. Women institutions and organizations have been opened following the revolution, women have taken part in political and military areas, and now women are able to protect themselves from the patriarchal mentality. In the last months, 10 women were killed under the name of honor killing in Efrîn Canton. This result shows the violence and the fear of the male system."

Gulîstan pointed out that the importance of women's institutions and organizations for all women in society and said that: "We have founded women's institutions and organizations in order to prevent femicide and protect women's rights. As Sara Organization, we give seminars to women and men to end violence against women. Our goal is to reveal the truth under violence against women by talking to men and women. We have carried out our works with Kongra Star and women."
