ANKARA - According to new bill that has been added to agenda since the beginning of the year but has been just introduced into Parliament, Hakkari and Şırnak provinces won't be cities anymore and Cizre and Yüksekova districts will become cities. Meanwhile, Hakkari and Şırnak will be renamed. Hakkari will be renamed as Çölemerik and Şırnak will be renamed as Nuh.

The new bill to rename the cities has been introduced into Parliament. According to the new bill, Hakkari and Şırnak provinces will become districts, current Şırnak's Cizre and Hakkari's Yüksekova districts will be provinces. If the new bill were to pass through the parliament, Hakkari and Şırnak would be renamed. Hakkari would be renamed as Çölemerik and Şırnak would be renamed as Nuh.
