ANTALYA - Human Rights Association (İHD) has reported that political prisoners in Antalya L Type Closed Prison were subjected to torture on August 5 after having interview with prisoners. The association will present the report to Amnesty International (AI) in the following days.

Prison Commission of the Human Rights Association (İHD) talked to prisoners in Antalya L Type Closed Prison upon the request of their families. The commission has reported the torture of political prisoners in the prison on August 5. Accorsing to the report, political prisoners said that about 50 guardians entered the F/2 ward by using bad language and insulting the prisoners, the guardians messed up the items belonging to prisoners, took the prisoners to corridor by battering them and handcuffed from their back. The report also states that the family members of prisoners were subjected to insults and some of them were battered.

The report states that some physical evidence of torture such as bruises, swellings, cuts, wounds handcuff marks. Prisoner Dicle News Agency (DİHA) reporter and many other prisoners have physical evidence of torture.

Before, female prisoners held in Alanya L Type Closed Prison were subjected to threats of guardians. The guardians told them, "We know who you are. We know where you came from." Female prisoners stated that they have faced with an attack at any moment and called to show awareness against ongoing situation.

Human Rights Association will present the report to Amnesty International (AI) in the following days.
