AMED – The broadcast of Özgür Gün TV was pulled off the air at midnight by its service provider platform.

The broadcast of Diyarbakır-based Özgür Gün TV channel, which broadcasted over Turkey’s satellite provider TÜRKSAT, was halted at midnight by its service provider platform without any notice.

The member of board of Özgür Gün TV Barış Barıştıran reacted to the decision and said, “We think the main reason of the closure of our channel is the pressure of RTÜK (Turkey’s Radio and Television Supreme Council). The reason of the Platform doesn’t submit any serious ground and make explanations to us is the pressure of RTÜK on the platform.”
