WAN – Van women react to the entering of Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) and the Turkey-backed Free Syrian Army (FSA) gangs to Jarablus and killing civilians. Women called on the AKP to immediately leave the Kurdish people’s lands.

Kurdish protection forces the YPG (the People's Defense Units) and YPJ (the Women's Defense Units) have got significant gains in Rojava after four-year civil war in Syria. As the AKP and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said they would never allow the gains of the Kurdish people in their all statements, they have finally entered Jarablus and begun to bombard villages and killed civilians.

Van women reacted to the massacres and attacks against Rojava people and said, “Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) and the Turkey-backed ISIS should leave Jarablus. The YPG is an organization based on human life. We’ll stand by the YPG to the end.”

Elif Acar stated that all people in the world know that the AKP supports ISIS, “We know that ISIS carried out massacres in Jarablus and attacked the Kurdish people in Turkey over Jarablus. The AKP knew that the YPG would enter Jarablus so the AKP starts a war against the Kurds through the TSK.” Elif expressed that the TSK has tried to get back its reputation that it lost during the attempted coup by attacking the gains of Kurdish people. Elif said, “They have made a show in Jarablus. If the entering to Jarablus was so easy, why didn’t the AKP enter one year ago when civilians were killed there? If the annihilation of ISIS was so easy, why didn’t the AKP do that before? As peoples in Turkey, we are in a big game. I am calling on all peoples in Turkey to wake up and not follow this game.”

Another woman in Van, Ümran Kurt, pointed out that the main target of the AKP is Rojava, “The AKP didn’t definitely enter to Jarablus in order to fight against ISIS. The problem of the AKP is the YPG in Jarablus. The YPG sacrificed their fighters in order to protect civilians from ISIS while ISIS killed civilians, children and beheaded people and raped women.”

Mukaddes Koç reminded the massacres in Turkey and Kurdistan carried out by ISIS and said, “If the AKP government carried out its war policies against ISIS not the YPG, people wouldn’t be killed in Turkey now. Jarablus is the lands of people who live in. Those who should leave Jarablus are the AKP-backed ISIS and TSK. We’ll stand by the YPG to the end.”
