Kongra Star’s petition campaign finalizes

QAMIŞLO – Kongra Star launched a petition campaign for lifting the isolation imposed upon the PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan and providing his freedom. The petition campaign has finalized. Hundrends of organizations and hundreds of thousands people signed the petition. The petition will be send to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) and the European Committee for the Prevention of Torture (CPT).

Kongra Star launched a petition campaign for lifting the aggravated isolation imposed upon the PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan in order to send to to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) and the European Committee for the Prevention of Torture (CPT). The campaign was simultaneously launched in Kobanê, Cizîr and Efrîn Cantons of Rojava Kurdistan, the cities in South Kurdistan and Lebanon. The campaign has been finalized by releasing a press statement.

The press statement was released in Qamilo and it was stated that hundrends of organizations and hundreds of thousands people signed the petition. The statement reads, “The CPT sent a delegation to Imralı Prison on May 2; however, they haven’t realeased any statement about the situation of the Kurdish Leader Abdullah Öcalan. As Rojava women, we launched a petition campaing in order to have reliable information from our Leadership. We deeply concern about the security conditions of our leadership after the attempted coup on July 15 in Turkey. We carried out the campaign for more than three months to lift the aggravated isolation imposed upon our leadership. We’ll send these signatures to the ECHR, CPT and the relevant institutions to fulfill their duty.

“Mr. Öcalan can determine the future of the world and everybody should take action for him. We particularly call on the CPT to make necessary explanations about their visit to Imralı Prison on May.”
