WAN – Women closed the racist and sexist writings written along lakeshore in Erciş with rainbow colors.

Unknown people wrote writings that insulted the Kurds and women on the benches along Van Lakeshore in the Sahilkent Neighborhood of Van’s Erciş district. Women’s Assembly of Erciş Municipality and the Free Women’s Congress (KJA) members painted the racist and sexist writings with rainbow colors.

Women, who painted the benches along the shore with rainbow colors, saw intense interest from citizens. One of the Women’s Policy Office of the Municipality employees, Ayşe Çiftçi, said, “We colored the district with our work. We will continue our work in different neighborhoods of the district.”
