ADANA – The Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) MP Meral Danış Beştaş got together with women in Adana and asked women to be pioneer in this process by saying, “Women will make their leader free like they built the revolution in Rojava.”

The Women’s Congress (KJA) Adana Coordination got together with women in the Misis Neighborhood of Adana’s Yüreğir district within the scope of the campaign calling on the freedom of the PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan titled, “I claim my Leader, Land and Freedom”. The Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) MP Meral Danış Beştaş and many women attended the meeting.

Meral evaluated the developments in Turkey and Middle East and pointed to the repressive policies imposed upon the people. Meral expressed that these policies have become the highest level in the period of the ruling AKP government. She reminded that the isolation imposed upon the PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan had become more aggravation and no news had been received from him. Meral said that the Kurdish people deeply concerned about the life of Abdullah Öcalan and therefore women launched this campaign for “Freedom for Öcalan”.

Meral underlined that women should stand up for this campaign, “We know the most women need and want the freedom. Women took their part in the all struggles and they led these struggles in the history. The politics of the HDP is women’s politics. Women will make their leader free like they built the revolution in Rojava.”
