Women to march in Sweden for the freedom of Abdullah Öcalan

STOCKHOLM – Women will march in Sweden by demanding the freedom of the PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

Kurdistan women, who live in different cities of Sweden, will gather in Uppsala and will begin to march to Stockholm on September 9 at 1 p.m. in order to protest the isolation upon the PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan. The women, who are expected to reach Stockholm on September 10, will join the 20th Scandinavia Kurdish Culture Festival to be held in Solna.

The march is being organized by Sweden Sara Kurdish Women's Union, Sweden KJAR, Örebro Kurdish Women's Initiative, Borlänge Kurdish Women’s Initiative, Committee of Karlstad KJAR, Göteborg Kurdish Women for Integration, Göteborg Kurdish Women's Initiative, Amara Kurdish Women's Assembly, Committee of Stockholm KJAR, Norway Kurdish Women's Initiative, Denmark Sêvê Women's Assembly, Gävle Warşin Women's Commune, Swedish Kurdish Mothers, Uppsala Women’s Initiative and Karlstad Kurdish Mothers.

Sweden Democratic Kurdish Society Center made a statement and called on all Kurdistan people and their friends to join the 20th Scandinavia Kurdish Culture Festival to be held in Solnahallen on September 10.

Meanwhile, the HDP (Peoples’ Democratic Party) co-chair Selahattin Demirtaş will give a speech in the festival.
