Hunger strike continues on 5th day

AMED - The indefinite-irreversible hunger strike launched with demand of a meeting with the PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan within the framework of the legal rules by 50 volunteers has continued on the fifth day.

The indefinite-irreversible hunger strike launched with demand of a meeting with the PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan within the framework of the legal rules by 50 volunteers has entered in the fifth day. People have begun to visit the Vedat Aydın conference Hall in the DBP headquarters at 10 a.m.

Politicians, artists and many citizens visited the hunger strikers yesterday. Hundreds of people gathered in front of the Cegerxwin Cultural Centre and marched to the DBP headquarters under the leadership of Amed Peace Mothers, ESP members, Syriac representatives, and officials from DBP, HDP and non-governmental organizations to visit the hunger strikers by chanting slogans “Long Live Leader Apo” and “No Life without the Leader”.

Visitors also wrote their messages and thoughts on the "Notes to the Island" guest book.

Visits to the hunger strikers are allowed from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
