AMED – The sit-down strike launched in Diyarbakır by teachers of the Education and Science Workers Union (Eğitim-SEN) has continued on the ninth day.

11,285 teachers, mostly members of the Education and Science Workers Union (Eğitim-SEN) have been suspended from their duty. The teachers have launched a sit-down strike in Diyarbakır in order to protest the suspension. As the sit-down strike has continued on the ninth day, the teachers have hanged the banners read, “Don’t turn schools into military posts, don’t let children to die”, “We warn the government that aspires our future, don’t touch our union rights and freedom”, “We call for peace in order to avoid the children death”.
