ŞIRNEX – Former Cizre Municipality co-mayor Leyla İmret, who had been taken into custody following the appointment of trustee to Cizre Municipality and was released two days ago by the court pending the trial, said, “They are trying to get municipalities by seizing it; however, I believe that their manner will remain inconclusive. Again, our willpower will win.”

Police raided the home of former Cizre Municipality co-mayor Leyla İmret and took her into custody following the appointment of the trustee to Cizre Municipality. Leyla was released two days ago by the court pending the trial. Leyla said, “The reasons for the appointment of the trustees to our 24 municipalities are without any foundation. Their own inspectors are even aware of this reality; however, they do not believe their own inspectors.”

Leyla remarked that the detention and accusations were an effort to legitimate the appointed trustees and the government did not have any concrete claim. Leyla said, “Police raided my home in the morning. I didn’t understand why they were there. Normally, I already had a trial would be held next week. I have been taken into custody three times for my trial. They released me for three times because they do not have concrete evidence. They came to my home conspiratorially that morning. Trustee was appointed to our municipality that morning. The government is trying to legitimate the appointed trustees by doing that. We know that their plans will be destroyed.

“The government has arrested people and forced them to give testimony against us. Their own inspectors are even aware of this reality; however, they do not believe their own inspectors. They have accused our municipality to not work and to give money to somewhere else; however, they do not have any evidence. All accusations are defamation. If they had had evidences, they would impose different sanction through legal means. They have appointed the trustees because they do not have evidence. They are trying to get municipalities by seizing it; however, I believe that their manner will remain inconclusive. Again, our willpower will win.”
