AMED – As three teachers and three students have been detained in Ergani, 11 teachers, who were detained in Silvan, have been released.

Thousands of teachers, mostly members of the Education and Science Workers Union (Eğitim-SEN) have been suspended from their duties following declaration of the state of emergency in Turkey. As the new school year has begun today, the detention of teachers has continued. According the reports received, three teachers and three students have been detained in the Ergani district of Diyarbakır.

Detained teachers have been released in Silvan.

Police detained 11 teachers in the Silvan district of Diyarbakır for wearing a t-shirt reads, “Don’t touch my teacher”. 11 teachers have been released after being questioned in the Police Station.
