ŞIRNEX- The state’s scenarios to displace Şırnak people have continued. State forces have tried to force to displace the people by threatening them.

The curfew has been imposed in Şırnak for more than seven months. Turkish Armed Forces announced the operation was ended on June; however, state forces haven’t allowed the people to enter the city center. Şırnak people have struggled for life in tents set up around the city for 187 days by not leaving their lands. The state gets annoyed of resistance of Şırnak people and threatens the people to displace them.

Two days ago, state forces blockaded the tent area and detained four people. State forces blockaded the tents in the Toptepe village in the morning and searched all tents. They also threatened people by saying, ‘We will get you out of the tents”. One month ago, Şırnak Deputy Governor called the people and made a speech on removal of the tents. The people said they wouldn’t remove their tents despite all difficulties and told the Şırnak Governor that they would never leave their lands.

State forces have continued the destruction of seven neighborhoods of Şırnak. Besides the destruction, state forces open fire from İkizce Police Station and Sanayi Police Checkpoint every night in order to scare the people. A new scenario of the state to displace the people is ‘terrorists hide in the tents’ in order to remove the tents.

Recently, state forces raided the tents and threatened the people by saying, “Whose side are you taking? Why are you staying silent against these attacks on us? If they attack us again, we will remove all of these tents. We are watching your every step.”
