Women in Germany protest the isolation and trustee appointments

NEWS CENTER- Women protested the isolation and trustee appointments by staging a sit-down protest under the leadership of the Wiesbaden Women's Initiative in Germany. Meanwhile, women in Frankfurt sent a letter to the CPT against the isolation imposed upon the PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

Women organized a sit-down protest led by the Wiesbaden Women's Initiative in front of Wiesbaden Rathaus in Wiesbaden, city in central western Germany and the capital of the federal state of Hessen. Women’s Assemblies in Mainz, Darmstadt, Frankfurt and Mannheim supported the action.

Nadire Yoslun made a statement on behalf of Germany Kurdish Women's Union (YJK-E), Nadire condemned the trustee appointments to municipalities and said; “An attempted coup was carried out on July 15 in Turkey. The coup failed; however, a civilian coup has begun to be carried out in Kurdistan. They have appointed trustees to municipalities in Amed, Batman, Hakkari, Mardin and Van, and they haven’t recognized the people’s will. Die Linke MP Barbara Cardenas began to speak following the talk of Nadire. Barbara stated she wanted to prevent the attacks and occupation attempts on the peoples’ unity in Rojava.

Wiesbaden Democratic Kurdish Society Center Co-cahir Fatma Uç underlined the isolation upon the PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan and said, “The isolation upon the Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan should be ended immediately. He should be allowed to meet his lawyers periodically.”

After the statements, a women’s committee consist of five people presented a file to Hesse State Assembly.

Women sent a letter to the CPT

A protest was organized in the Dhauptwache city of Frankfurt led by Amara Women’s Assembly with the motto, “The freesom of our leader is our freedom”. The women sent 80 letters to the CPT by demanding the freedom of the PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

The women announced that they would send letters every Wednesday.
