Women of the KJA in preparation for self-government areas

AMED - Women of the KJA have made tomato sauce, bottled foods and dried vegetables in the Sur Women’s Academy within the scope of the preparation for winter while continuing their works in solidarity with destroyed cities. The women called upon all women to participate in the solidarity.
The Free Women’s Congress (KJA) launched a campaign on August titled “I claim my leadership, land and freedom” and with slogan, “Each city is a country” for rebuild the cities self-government declared. The women have strengthened the solidarity with the people in self-government areas by making tomato sauce, bottled foods and dried vegetables for them.
Ruken Akca from the KJA stated that the winter would be difficult for citizens and everyone should be in solidarity with these people. Ruken said, “People need tents and blankets for winter. They also need clothes and staple food products. The shopkeepers in marketplace of Diyarbakır gave us all vegetables to be dried free of charge for solidarity.”
Ruken indicated that many districts in Kurdistan had been demolished in genocidal attacks and said, “As women of the KJA, we are in solidarity with the people in self-government areas. The campaign that we launched shouldn’t be limited only to this place. Women should strengthen the solidarity in all cities and towns. The people need many things for winter. We have prepared tomato sauce, bottled foods and dried vegetables in order to meet the people’s needs.”
Ruken called on all women by saying, “We demand the women to dry vegetables and prepare bottled foods by supporting us. The campaign shouldn’t be limited only to this place. We ask the people to join the campaign from everywhere. The people need tents, blankets, clothes and foods. Everybody should contribute as best as they can.”
