ERZIROM – Co-mayor Tülay Karaca and council members, who were detained in Tekman, have been jailed.

Police conducted house raids on September 7 in the Tekman district of Erzurum. Tekman Municipality co-mayor of Tekman Municipality Tülay Karaca and council members of the municipality Nuh Demirel, Çiçek Sarualtun and Osman Kılıç were sent to the court for arrest after being held in custody for 16 days. Four people have been sent to Erzurum H Type Prison on charges of “being members of an [illegal] organization.”
