ŞIRNEX- The living condition of Şırnak people, who live in tents by not leaving their lands, has been getting harder due to the coming of winter. The primary needs our citizens in the city whose seven neighborhoods demolished, are winter tents and heaters.

As the curfew declared on March in Şırnak has been imposed in the city for 203 days, the living condition of Şırnak people, who live in tents by not leaving their lands, has been getting harder due to the coming of winter. The urgent need for citizens, who have lived in tents made by themselves despite everything, are winter tents.

The HDP (Peoples’ Democratic Party) Şırnak MP Sekvan Kılıç stated that the displacement policy came to naught by the resistance of the people. Sekvan underlined the city was still closed to citizens despite the announcement of “operation ended” in the city. Sekvan said, “Almost 70 percent of the city has been demolished. The winter is coming and the people will have many difficulties in the winter. We are trying to solve their problems as much as we can; however, they need more support and solidarity. Everybody should be in solidarity with Şırnak people and raise their voice against what is going on.”

Sekvan stated that seven of the 12 neighborhoods of the city have been completely destroyed. She expressed that the people wouldn’t have homes even if the curfew was lifted. Sekvan said the most urgent needs for the people were tents and heaters.
