AMED- Co-mayor of Ağrı municipalit, Mukaddes Kubilay stated that the ongoing process of war was planned on Tendürek Mountain of Ağrı and today the municipalities were tried to turn into police stations. “We will continue to carry out our works with people,” said Mukaddes.

Co-mayor of Ağrı municipalit, Mukaddes Kubilay stated that the process of war was planned in Tendürek and the trustee appointments are the final point of attacks on the municipalities governed by the DBP (Democratic Regions Party). Mukaddes also stated that the AKP government ignored the process that began when the people rescued soldiers by being human shield on April 2015 and the first step of war was taken that time. Mukaddes said, “The people took the wounded soldiers on their back and brought them from the mountain. The people covered the wounded soldiers in order to prevent their families be sad when they saw their children; however, the government refused to see these Kurdish people. The government’s only thought is to appoint trustees to all municipalities by ignoring the people’s will. What is going on is a civil coup and we will resist against this.”

Mukaddes mentioned that the majority of people voted for the DBP in election 2014. She pointed out the hope of people increased with the resolution process began in 2013-2014 and the AKP government broke the resolution process. Mukaddes said, “The AKP government created a clash environment on Tendürek Mountain on purpose in order to damage the process. The government left the wounded soldiers dead there. But civilian people went to the mountain and brought the wounded soldiers down from the mountain and took them to the hospital. The process of war was planned on Tendürek and it continues.”

‘Municipalities are used as police stations’

Mukaddes noted that the AKP government launched a war by applying oppression on the Kurdish people and the people began to apply self-defense against those attacks. Mukaddes said, “The AKP government has tried to take the people’s municipalities by applying oppression. They have seized the municipalities by ignoring the will of people. The people don’t accept that and they won’t allow that. There are police and armored vehicles around the municipalities. The people see police when they go to municipalities. The government’s purpose is to use the municipalities as police station not for serving the people.”

‘We will continue to carry out our works with the people’

Mukaddes underlined that there wasn’t a democratic environment in Turkey. She pointed out the unlawfulness of the AKP government couldn’t be accepted and they would resist despite the unlawfulness. Mukaddes said, “The AKP will be forced to pay the price to the people. The people won’t forget the detention and arrests and they will bring them to book. We won’t recognize the trustees and we will resist in each area. We will continue to carry out our works with the people.”
