SİİRT/DERSİM – Dersim co-mayors Nurhayat Altun and Mehmet Ali Bul and Siirt co-mayor Tuncer Bakırhan have been detained.

Police raided many houses in the morning in Dersim and detained Dersim co-mayors Nurhayat Altun and Mehmet Ali Bul and Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Provincial Co-chair Arslan Çağ, Labour Party (EMEP) Provincial Chairperson Mustafa Taşkale, the HDP Party Assembly (PM) member Ali Ekber Kaya, the HDP administrators Hüseyin Dağdeviren and Yaşar Ağın, Revolutionary Labor Unions Confederation (DİSK) Branch Co-chair Şükran Yılmaz and Municipality Assembly member Cemile Ataş.

According to reports, politicians had been detained for a press statement on November 4-5 in order to condemn the detention of Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality Co-mayors.

Meanwhile, police raided the building of Siirt Municipality and home of Siirt co-mayor Tuncer Bakırhan. Police blockaded the municipality building and detained co-mayor Tuncer Bakırhan. The search continues in the municipality building.
