IZMIR – Seven students of the Student Collective of Ege University, who were detained while protesting the draft bill on sexual abuse prepared by the AKP MPs, have been released.

Yesterday, members of the Student Collective of Ege University (EU) wanted to protest the masculine draft bill on sexual abuse in the campus. Police and private security guards attacked the students and detained seven students. The students were taken to Security Branch Directorate. Lawyers of the Progressive Lawyers' Association (ÇHD) wanted to see the students; however, they couldn’t enter the building due to imposing bag search at the entrance of the building and participate in the testimony process of their clients. Lawyers, who met the students in the garden of the directorate, conveyed that they determined redness and abrasions in various parts of students’ bodies. The students were released after the health check.
