Collective contract of employment that was signed by Diyarbakir Metropolitan Municipality granted various rights to its employees.while talking related to Collective contract of employment, Hafize İpek who is Deputy Mayor of Diyarbakir says that we have decidet to give salary of our employees to their wifes if they perform violence against their family. “We think that such sanctions will decrease the violence” she said.

Between Diyarbakir Metropolitan Municipality and General Workers' Union and DISK General Manager , on March 10, Collective contract of employment was signed.İn this contract it was refered to 8 March International Workers Women's Day , 21 march Newroz’s Feast , 25 november Struggle Day of Violence Against Women and because the importance of these special days, it was also talked that these days sould be declared as administrative holiday. Hafize İpek expressed that as BDP municipalities we achieve our principles by taking them in practice.

Hafize says that we have taken these decisions, which are about women and workers,with the cooperation of syndicates and she also said that “ in the Collective contract of employment, to see women at the areas,we suggested 8 March International Workers Women's Day to be administrative holiday and took the decision of 21 march Newroz’s Feast to be administrative holiday, because Newroz is a national holiday for kurdish people.We also know know that the violence against women only can be see while they are outside and in the areas, so we took the decison of 25 november Struggle Day of Violence Against Women to be administrative holiday.
‘İf the Girls do not be Sent to School,the Aids will be Cutten’
Refer to pratical steps of Diyarbakir Metropolitan Municipality which are about developing a women axis viewpoint, Hafize says that pratical working about women should be the main business of municipalities. Hafize mentioned that the contract has been signed to achieve increasing workers’ economic,culture and social development.Without pratical steps it is imposiple to struggle with violence against women.As Municipality, after determination of violent,we are going to carry out these decisions and we are going to have frequent dialoques with aggrieved. We believe that, thanks to the sanctions in the contract, ,the violence against women and encouragement to violence will decrease.
Hafize also points that there are educitional works which are for creating social gender equality consciousness for women. By the decisions taken in the contract, if the workers do not send their girls to school the aids which are given to their sons will also be cutten Hafize expressed.
