ISTANBUL – Musician Değer Deniz has been found dead in her home in Istanbul's Beyoğlu district.

Değer Deniz's brother, not having heard from his sister all day, went to her home on Gülabici Street, in the Kuloğlu part of Beyoğlu. When he entered the home, he found Değer's bruised body. She had been strangled with a rope.

Değer's body has been taken to the Istanbul Forensic Medical Institute for examination. There is an ongoing investigation into the murder.
