AMED - Civan Arslan (17), injured in the bomb attack on a HDP rally in Diyarbakır, lost his life in the hospital while in intensive care. Civan has been buried in his hometown of Bismil, in Diyarbakır province.

Ramazan Yıldız, Necati Kurul and Şehmuz Kaçan were also severely injured after the blasts and had died on the same day of the attack. With Aslan’s death, the number of people killed by the bomb attack rose to four.

Provincial and district administrators from HDP and DBP, HDP Amed parliamentarians, MEYA-DER representatives, Bismil co-mayors and thousands of civilians carried Civan's coffin from the hospital to the Sarıtoprak neighborhood in Bismil. The convoy of thousands rang out with chants of “martyrs never die” and “the murderer is Erdoğan."

During Civan's funeral, MEYA-DER Amed Co-president Mehmet Yaşar said that people had come to Amed rally to state their democratic demands for a free life. It was thanks to Kurdish martyrs like Civan, he said, that the elections threshold was demolished.
