AMED - For two days, Turkish soldiers have been conducting operations in the Kurdish district of Lice. Bombing is again underway in the area.

Two days ago, Turkish soldiers launched a military operation in the triangle formed by the towns of Lice, Kocaköy and Hani. Early this morning, helicopters began bombing rural areas in the Fis Valley, located in the triangle. Bombing is continuing despite the presence of civilians in the area. Helicopters have descended on key hilltops in the area to deploy large numbers of soldiers.

Local residents have headed to the area to stop the clashes by serving as "human shields." The group has renewed a call for more people to join them to stop the attacks.
