AMED - Neighborhood residents have continued a vigil against police operations in three neighborhoods of Diyarbakır.

Diyarbakır's old city, the Sur district, has been under police threat throughout the weekend. Police killed one youth in the attacks and wounded five. In response, Diyarbakır residents have launched "human shield" vigils. The vigils are designed to prevent clashes from occurring. Locals have held vigils in the Hasırlı, Fatih Paşa and Cemal Yılmaz neighborhoods.

Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Parliamentary representatives stayed at the vigil throughout the weekend.
