MUĞLA - Women in the Aegean town of Bodrum, Turkey gathered to express their wish for peace on white scarves.

In the seaside Turkish town of Bodrum, women gathered to the share their wishes for peace. The Bodrum Women's Platform called the action. "We won't die, we won't kill, we won't be anyone's soldiers," wrote one woman on a white cloth." "Peace is nothing but a mother's smile," wrote another. White cloths are the symbol of the Peace Mothers, the group of Kurdish women struggling to end war in Kurdistan and Turkey.

Deniz Özyurt made a statement on behalf of the women about the action. She noted that the women had chosen the cloths as symbols of the struggle of women to live in peace, with their own culture and language.

"We are not condemned to plant seeds of hatred in ourselves and kill one another," said Deniz.
