SERÊKANIYÊ- Women in Rojava are defending their country. On the other hand, they are also rebuilding their city.

In a village in the Serêkanîyê city of Cizîrê canton, women are working in the rose garden. Women go 40 kilometers to the garden very early in the morning. One of the workers in the garden, Sara Hemid, said, “We can do any job as women. We won’t leave our country. We are working between 8-15 hours and making 800 Wereqe [Syrian currency]. We don’t need too much money. It’s enough for our needs.

“If it’s necessary we will carry stones, and we won’t leave our country. In Rojava we started a revolution. We are rebuilding a new life in here and we will continue to do this. It will be a new model for all over the world. I’m calling on women: don’t leave your country; hold it. The YPG/YPJ are making our security. We owe our life to them. I wish success to them.”
