AMED - Europe’s women parliamentary committee has visited the Congress of Free Women (KJA).

Co-speakers of the Congress of Free Women (KJA), Ayla Akat and Elif Kaya, and other women welcomed the women. Committee included representative of France of European Parliament Margerette Christian and Martina Michels.

Margerette Christian said that she came to Diyarbakır for several times but she could not visit the KJA. She also said that she admires the struggle of Kurdish women.

“Especially, Kurdish women’s struggle for equality of women and men calls my attention. Equality is not very difficult in Europe, but it is difficult here. I admire your struggle against government,” Margerette said.

The committee asked questions about the struggle of Kurdish women and the KJA’s works.
