New prisons for children on Universal Children's Day

Although November 20 is accepted as the Universal Children's Day, many children in prisons are still harassed and raped. The children who are the future of their country are not brought in life. Turkey does not take the measures to protect the children who are in prisons or outside.

The records of violence against the children

According to records of IHD(Human Rights Association) 585 children were killed because of mines, the explosive explosion of war and the intervention of the security forces in Turkey and Kurdistan.

*Faced as a result of violence, three children lost their lives, seven were injured, 13 were raped 4 were harassed.In 2014 12 children killed themselves while 8 children were to attempt suicide.

*872 children who are studying in Diyarbakır were divulged by the Police Department and the Provincial Ministry of Education. Their information(name,surname,address etc.) were given on an internet page.

*8 million 500 thousand children continue their life as 'worker' .

*The killed children with State-assisted

*4 children were killed and 7 children were wounded by the police and gendarmerie, one child was killed and 2 children were wounded by village guards.

The measures to protect children

Many countries have amended their law to protect the children but Turkey is planning to open new prisons for children soon.
