AMED - Women's Centre Foundation(KAMER) made a written statement concerning to International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women on November 25.

The difference between data.

KAMER, " We had interviews with 40.000 women to make the violence research against women. The result of these interviews shows us 90 % of women are being exposed to violence contrary to the official data which says it is only 40%."

The state should ask the support from women's organizations.

"The official data shows 40% women are exposed to violence in Turkey but there is 50% secret women who are exposed to violence. Our most important goal is to reveal the unseen violence and we are sure the state can ensure this task with the support of women's organizations." said KAMER.

Women are being killed just because they are women.

KAMER said, "261 women were killed just because they are 'women' in Turkey." And they pointed out that this number is only to media data. KAMER said, "The women can not get rid of violence because they are in particular fear, helplessness and they do not have education."

And the children.

Each family has about four children in Turkey. When woman is exposed to violence, four children are also exporsed to violence. The children are beated and punished with their mother.

The message for International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women on November 25.
