Syrian women's status in Turkey moves to the Swedish Parliament

STOCHOLM - The Liberal People's Party Representative Maria Weimar mentioned the conditions of Syrian women who had to take refuge in Turkey, in the Swedish Parliament.

Maria brought the conditions of Syrian refugees women to the Swedish Parliament. Maria said, "Syrian refugees women have been sexually abused by men in Turkey. There are about 2 million Syrian refugees in Turkey and the majority of them live in big cities not in the refugee camps."

Maria reminded that Syrian women are sold as second or third wives to men in Turkey and this issue reported by Sweden and the world medias.

Syrian women are forced into a religious marriage and they can not claim any rights when they are abandoned by men in Turkey. She asked to the Swedish government be commissioned to protect Syrian women while The Swedish Government are stating that their foreign policy aims to protect women.
