AMED - After the Chairman of Diyarbakir Bar Association Tahir Elçi, the curfew was imposed in 6 neighborhoods of Sur the district of Diyarbakır.

In the morning,many people gathered in Sur the district of Diyarbakır.with the call of the Diyarbakır Bar Association to protest the attacts to The Four Columns Minare. One group made a statement. After the statement the police opened fire to the people.Tahir Elçi was killed and many people were wounded.

After after the massacre of Tahir Elçi, the district governorship announced the curfew. The curfew has been imposed in the neighborhoods of Cevatpaşa, Dabanoğlu, Fatihpaşa, Hasırlı, Savaş, Cemal Yılmaz and the Street of Gazi until further notice.
