News Center- The East Kurdistan Free Women's Coordination (KJAR) draws attention to the rising of the death by stoning and the death sentences in Iran. The KJAR calls to prevent the death by stoning in Gilan province.

The KJAR made a written statement against the death by stoning. In the statement the KJAR reminded the State and men's brutal practices against women with the prosess of the women's liberation movement and women's seeking their rights. The KJAR stressed that they are trying to legitimate these brutal practices against women.

The KJAR stated that the stoning is an old Middle Eastern tradition. It is decreased with the struggle of women and human rights but it is being continued in regional countries, especially Iran and Afghanistan. The KJAR informed that the stoning is still existing in the laws and it can not be removed despite the struggles. The latest victim of stoning is a woman in Gilan province.

The violence against women is increased after Deash's attacks to the region and the violence becomes a part of everyday life. KJAR said in the statement, " We have to struggle at the international level to protest these brutal practices against women and this is possible with the collective struggle of women. We have to struggle to remove this punishment from the law especially under the leadership of kurdish women. Thus, the women who united in the East of Kurdistan and Iran, can change the laws in Iran."

The KJAR calls all Kurdish and Iranien women to struggle against the stoning and the death sentences.
