AMED – The co-chairs of Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality and other municipalities, the DTK, the HDP and the DBP went to Sur and they began the action. The co-chairs said “ They will not leave the district until the blockade lifted.

The curfew has been imposed for 23 days in Sur district of Diyarbakır. The DBP Diyarbakır Provincial Organization called an urgent action against the possible massacres in Sur. After the call,the people in Diyarbakır were on the streets and they protested the blockade throughout the night. Birsen Kaya Akat, the co-chair of Bağlar Municipality and Azize Değer, the co-chair of Sur Municipality hold a sitdown action. Today, the co-hairs of the DTK, HDP, DBP and the co-chairs of Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality and other municipalities begin to protest in Sur. Selma Irmak, the co-chair of the DTK, Emine Ayna, the co-chair of the DBP, Sibel Yiğitalp, the HDP Diyarbakır representative, Fırat Anlı, the co-chair of the Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality and other co-chairs went to Melikahmet street of Sur. The co-chairs went into The Tigris Euphrates Cultural Center. The co-chairs said, “We will not leave the district until the blockade lifted.”
