AMED – Thousands of people started to march towards Sur upon a call of KESK, DİSK and TMMOB which decided to strike action to break the blockade in Sur.

Thousands of people gathered to break the blockade in Sur where the curfew has been imposed for 28 days. KESK, DİSK and TMMOB came together in front of syndicate building then they marched to Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality to protest the curfews and join the strike action. KESK, TMMOB, Eğitim-Sen, Office Workers Union, Tüm-Bel-Sen ve SES marched in front of Kalender Plaza. And the citizens from Bağlar, Kayapınar and Yenişehir district of Diyarbakır gathered in front of the HDP and the DBP buildings and they marched to Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality. The citizens who departed from Bismil came to area too. The workers, human rights activists, representatives of civil society organizations from whole of Diyarbakır gathered in front of Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality. The people shouted slogans suc as ‘ Don’t sleep Amed,protect Sur’, ‘Viva the resistance of Sur’, ‘Kurdistan will be the grave of fascism’. The march towards Sur started.
