AMED – A young woman has been shot and wounded in Diyarbakır’s Sur district, now in the 42nd day of a blockade.

Starting this morning, Turkish state forces resumed attacks on the Sur district of Diyarbakır, now in the 42nd day of a blockade. 24-hour curfews are in effect in multiple neighborhoods, with state forces opening fire on anyone seen outside.

On Melikahmet Avenue, an area where no curfew is in effect, a young woman in her twenties was wounded by a gunshot. According to eyewitnesses, the direction from which the bullet came has not been identified. The young woman has been taken to the hospital.
